i dont fit trims dead flush , what about a cut tile?? a very slight overhang no more than 1mm but the ops are way too much..

Well, yeah the tile sits in the trim, so yeah you have a over hang onto the tile, but it's only a mill or so max init.

Hi chaps , chapesses
Worst for me so far....
Bevelled edge with brickbond splash back, created an "overhang",
and was about 3>4mm to tuck the cut edge centre of the tile in.
Been using the flat trims lately as opposed to the quadrant...much better in all aspects....anyone else use these ?...or am I behind times ?

hi, sounds like he has used the wrong size trim!! (or installed it wrong) you should be using about a 8-10mm trim for a 8mm tile. There is no way the trim would be able to stick out any further than a mm or two if it has been installed correctly!!

Get them back to fix it I say!

sorry guys if I gave the impression it was my job.....didnt realise my reply read like that...till I read it back. ! doh:mad2:

I wouldnt let that happen..!

...whoever has obviously used the wrong trim.....maybe only had one size in the van ? and wanted to get off the job ?

I was trying to say that sometimes I have found a bit of overhang from using bevelled tiles brick bond fixed.

I won a qoute yesterday based soley on the fact that the other tiler that had qouted had tried to convince the customer to only have upright trims on a half height splashback, with no trims on the tops of the tiles upto and into the window, the customer said that the tiler had said that a three way cut would look too cluttered, the customer immediatley thought that the tiler couldnt do the three way cut, despite the tiler trying to blag it.

The customer said my qoute was more expensive but he had no confidence in the other guy.
