Just finished a floor in a shop unit on the above contract the induction to site and the delivery of materials were a nightmare anyone else worked there and had the same problems ? Also parking was hardwork

Nope but they are all the same. Bullring Shopping centre in Birmingham was a nightmare. % hours waiting to be inducted, miss your slot on loading bay and its tough. Too many rules for me.

the bull ring was heaven compared to this Neale its a mare big time i am laying Brick slips in a shop i think we are on about 36000 thousand at the moment pointed to you cant get anything in or out you have to go through the Olympic village when you deliver anything how we are going to get the tools etc out i dont know

Took 5 hours for our materials to be delivered driver rang up at 11.00 to say he was 10 mins away, unloaded them at 4.00 .Induction took 2.5 hours got there at 6.30am started work at 5.00pm .

The place is a joke re getting in and out, if the turn styles work it's not too bad, when they don't and it's often that they don't the queues build up, it's based on a swipe card with a bio metric hand reader, nightmares lol

My old man runs the cranes down there (as well as every major site in the UK) wouldn't want to work there.

I know a tiler who worked on the Olympic site and she also said what a nightmare it was especially regarding security.

yeah been there a few weeks ago what a joke !! took hours for the induction got randomly drug and alcohol tested walked all the way to the gates to find my hand scanner card thingy didnt work then had to wait 30 mins in a queue at reception to get it sorted took my mate an hour to get in with the van your not allowed passengers and it took longer to get the van off when we finished to come round to the train station to pick me up never ever again !!!

I had a similar job in London, 'One New Change' which is a huge shopping centre directly opposite St Pauls Cathedral. Delivery slots were like hens teeth, security card scanners never worked. After waiting over an hour for an induction I was then told I couldn't go on site as I had shorts on!! Oh and due to all the extras a 2 day job took 2 weeks. Never again.......

The shorts rule applies here as well, it's murder with the humidity on site, no airflow what so ever, torture mate.

just got back from westfield.r8 ordeal.15 min walk to toilets.impossible to work on metrage there.did hear though that a certain store was desperate for tilers b4 store opening that they were paying silly silly money per day for tilers.more than many earn in a week
carrying tools over that bridge into rush hour traffic, never again
