It does say for block paving and patios, I think thats a no then..

Not somethink I would use on a slate floor.

Guys my tiler says that using Patio sealent is perfectly adequate?

e.g. Paving and Patio Seal Clear - Exterior & Masonry Paint - Paint -Decorating & Interiors - Wickes

£15 for 5 litres. He has put some on one tile and colour enhancer on another and I can't tell the difference.

What do you think? He says that the tin says it does the same thing..

Keeps moiture and grease out. Any toughts?
do you want to risk ruining your floor at the final hurdle all for the sake of a price of a tin of proper sealer??? LTP Mattstone all the way for me (still)

hi as,what exactly is your tiler doing just laying the fllro and are you sealing and grouting the job or is the tiler grouting the job?

Its all been grouted today. I have to seal it now. Looks great I'm over the moon with it.

I got some good quality sealer. The tiler said it will be difficult to clean and we may need specialist product to clean it before sealing it! Not sure what though.

He said we can wash and wash it for days and it will still be covered in crap.

just done a one of them, Burnt Heather from Keystone. Gorgeous. I have to ask though why the tiler isn't doing the cleaning off and sealing for you? I've always considered it the most essential part of the job. Get it clean, make sure any de-laminated areas are cleared out and seal it. Not a job for the customer as its the satisfaction of a job well done and completed that keeps a lot of us doing this job. I mean to say it cant be the money can it?

Mkaes me wonder about him especially as he doesn't seem to know the best stuff to use and hasn't recommended the correct gear for internal use.

Lithofin Multi seal for a flat satin finish or Lithofin Slate Seal for a brighter slightly glossy finish. You'll get about 20m in one coat from a litre, using a cloth, less with a brush or gloss roller. Both of which can leave puddles. Keep the window open though and dont seal yourself into a corner.

just a minor niggle from looking at your pics again actually, but there's grout residue showing on the raised edges on the tile surface. Did your tiler tell you what to use to get it off?
