UK Manufacturer 365Drills has been awarded a patent by the Intellectual Property Office for its Porsadrill Diamond Drilling Kit

Over the years, 365Drills have invested heavily to position the PorsaDrill Brand as a quality, reliable and cost-effective product.
Gaining the patent will assist 365Drills in fighting poorer quality copies of the kit and reaffirm to retailers the value for money
that PorsaDrill can offer.

365Drills already has a number of established retailers distributing its drill kits and bits, an aims to now attract retailers who are
currently selling cheaper, poorer quality drill - which can result in broken tiles - and instead reap the benefits of 365Drills' patented,
time proven product, which has a well established track record in the market.

PorsaDrill is competatively priced at under £50 and there is the prospect of increasing retailers' profit margins. With its diamond
core drill bits, it can be used to drill through even the toughest of materials, including granite, marble and porcelain.

Those interested in stocking the patent-protected PorsaDrill kit should contact Richard Hazell to discuss the possibilities.

Read the Mag Richard, good to see a familiar face there. However.

In a Mag like Tile UK (which is after all the yuppie tiling mag - how many readers ever have to clean cement off their hands?) there is probably too much information in your ad. Great info for real tradesmen, but all you need in Tile UK is a picture of one of your perfectly drilled holes in a polished porcelain tile, with one of your highly marketable trade ladies holding a battery drill (fitted with appropriate 365 bit) James Bond style - blowing imaginary dust away, with the words "perfectly drilled holes from £5.99" or similar..... Guaranteed 500% sales increase :8:lol

Tile UK. Are we in that mag still? I don't seem to get it anymore.

No havent seen the forum advert in the mag. But I did get a message from the owners to say they are scrapping TileUK and launching "surfacing"

This is the announcement I got by email:
===============================
Tile UK is evolving
For many years, Tile UK has enjoyed a position as the leading monthly independent trade title for the UK tile and stone industry. However,
as the market evolves to be increasingly contract-led, with many of the latest surface solutions created to meet the needs of today’s
architects and specifiers, Gearing Media Group has taken the decision to better reflect this shift and usher Tile UK into the wider modern
marketplace, incorporating it into a brand-new title, Surfacing, as of October 2011.

Advertisers should be assured that this does not mean that Tile UK is ceasing to exist, but instead that its new incarnation will be
distributed to a fresh new readership, including key architectural practices, specifiers, contractors and procurers across the world. The
UK and international tile market, including retailers, will continue to be served by the magazine, and readers and advertisers alike will
enjoy an increased coverage of the vibrant international surface design sector.

Surfacing will remain a monthly magazine, edited by JoBeth Phillips. There will be increased editorial coverage of global surface design
events, including all of the key tile trade shows, as well as coverage of some of the latest international projects. With its predecessor
already renowned for its design-led content, Surfacing will comprise the best elements of Tile UK – and more.
Surfacing will launch from October 2011

Thanks for that last post Richard. It will be interesting to see how many in the tiling industry continue to support a magazine covering a larger range of interests - guess the publishers have researched the market and expect increased revenues from this move.

As a subscriber, I am interested to see when they inform us, and what they propose for existing subscription holders.

Re: Tools: Here we are published in the TileUK mag in all our glory. Tile Drills frm

Yes I have to say its a bit "under announced" isnt it as a message. Obviously they put a positive spin on their message about expanding but I guess the bottom line is that there are not enough manufactuers in the tile sector paying (sponsoring) for ad space to make the mag worthwhile in the tile sector. Especially as there are two of them. Maybe they accept that widening the appeal will help. But you are right - will they lose readership?

Who knows. But for now at least we made it into the last edition of TileUK ! (infamous)
