2 coats acrylic primer cross coat between application to ensure full coverage.

A decoupling Matt would be fine to use, Ive mentioned fast flex earlier, when used with a 3mm solid bed fixing trowel becomes a decoupling system as it contains a rubber instead of a sand, as you’ll have solid bed which then acts as the fracture mat.

Costs of bal fast flex £45 covers 6m2

Cost of ditra I get it by the roll for around £7m2 then use trade flex s1 at £15 a bag covers 5m2

So both are around the same price. But you save time with the fast flex, it’s vital you use the 3mm solid bed trowel to ensure the full spread underneath the tiles to create the matt.

I wouldn't advise an amateur on using fastflex . It's the devil's work
