Can anybody give me a free link to the British standards for tiling lippage. Just finished a big job various rooms and it has been classed as a bodge! Complete **** take! Worked there a week and not received a penny. 15 years tiling and this has never happened before!!! Not amused!

Bs5385:3 states this....

1) joints less than 6 mm wide, 1 mm;
2) joints 6 mm or more wide, 2 mm.
 Laying tiles in a brick bond pattern should be carefully considered because of potential lipping caused by the curvature of large format tiles, which can be excessive.
 The lipping of tiles is inevitable on “curved” tiles. BS 5385:3 states “There are permissible manufacturing tolerances for ceramic tiles as defined in BS EN 14411. Certain types of tiles, e.g. extruded or large format, might have permissible surface flatness irregularities that cannot be satisfactorily accommodated within the surface flatness tolerance permitted to the tile installer and this should be taken into account when evaluating the achievable flatness of a floor tiling installation”
