Stramit Boards

Anybody ever had to deal with these boards, I've got to price to remove tiles from 3 walls in a shower area and retile.

I know that they are a pressed hay board with paper each side (found on a net search) and plan to tank them, It's just that I have never had to deal with them before.

Be fair who puts hay boards in a shower area beggers belief.

Any help would appreciated

ive used them as a deck for roofing

they are a pig to work with, like straw coated in cement

but they are stable so I should imagine you can tank them

These seem to more of a natural hay rather than the cement ones but well pressed into a solid mass.

Never heard of these, follow this with interest, what are they mainly spec'd for?

I have done a few...

They can be patched over easy enough, very strong walls..

Seems it was Swedish then emigrated to Oz, so maybe our overseas friends might have used it more, seems it has excellent thermal properties as well as fire resistance

Internal Surface Finishes

• A wide variety of finishes can be applied. The normal paper liner of the board is an ideal surface for painting or wallpapering. Stramit panels can also be faced with plywood, vinyls, fabrics, woodchip, vermiculite, textured paints etc.
• Plastering:
  Panels can be produced with a tapered edge to allow for a skim-coat of plaster to give the traditional high quality finish.
• Joints:
  Normally scrimmed with jute scrim cloth before plastering

Might see more of this as I think it's being touted as an ECO product, is that why your customer has asked for it?
