Hi all, nearly finished a large hallway floor in travertine (not filled and honed) with a tumbled trav mosaic border so far the customer is very pleased. But they have asked for a satin finish when I seal the floor, as I have only used lithofin stain-stop to date for any sealing I have done, I would realy appreciate any advice regarding sealer. Also I was thinking of using Bal superflex limestone for the grout, just wondering if the coarse nature of this product will be a help or a hinderance when grouting all the pits and chiseled edges of the tiles?

Try LTP Ironwax Satin to seal.
Re the grout, personally I would always go for as smooth as possible subject to it being able to cope with the width of the joint. Mapei Ultracolour can go up to 20mm but is still quite smooth

Also mention to the customer that to have a satin finish , means using a topical sealer and these only last short periods of time and depends upon foot traffic to said area, where as if they use an impregnator , then this can last a few yrs rather than maybe annually with a topical sealer.

You could get "satin" look by using a polishing powder then adding a normal clear impregnating sealer.
