An electrician i've met through tiling for a kitchen company asked me to do his new kitchen, he'd liked what i'd done on the others. An opportunity to get my good work passed around I thought.
Got there took about 2 hours to decide where he wanted the tiles to finish, couldn't decide whether to cut each tile on the bottom (tiles 4" porcelein) or have a slight overhang on the top (about 5mm). Decided to go for the 5mm overhang. He also wanted to incorporate a floor trim on the edges!
Tiled about two thirds incuding a sill, came back the next morning not a single tile on the wall! He had removed the lot and explained that he didn't like the tiles to overhang! Oh and the random coloured tiles were not the same random as he had in mind!
He offered to pay for my days work but there is no compensation to having all your hard work taken down and to top it all off I dropped a tile on it's edge and it put the tiniest dent in the worktop, which then had to be repaired!
Lesson learnt...i think....Don't take on fussy f****ers! And don't rush to catch up.
Has anyone else had a similar experience:sad_smile:
