David[/quote]i have that cutter, its the same as the old plasplugs one, great little cutter. you can get it for £100 in topps tiles. i bought a replacement blade last week for £19.

Hi guys & girls regarding wet cutting indoors i have just come across a neat product from karl dahm it called a wet tent and comes in 3 sizes.

I have a Rubi 200 wet cutter (Marcrist blase). I use it inside alot if needs be. I put a bit of ply down over a dustsheet or two (yes even over light carpet). Each time i use the cutter I keep a sponge beside it and give it a quick wipe or anything thats run onto the ply. Spray goes onto the ply and again i wipe it up. Hasnt been a problem.....yet.

You do need to be careful, but if your doing an upstairs toilet then even with saving your trecks outside with 4 or 5 cuts at a time you eat up alot of working time keeping fit on the stairs.

Cutter is great for most jobs, can get awkward to cut anything over 800 though. Ive cut 1200's before, just take time.

Re: New wet cutter ?

Hi guys - 1st timer on this forum.....

I've got a Plasplugs Contractor Plus - Had it now for 5 years and its been great. However, 120,000 miles on & I reckon it will fail its next MOT.
its starting to cut squint - so i am just drawing a line right across the tile & eyeballing the cut / lining up with the blade.
and
its overheatd & cut out on me a few times - need to leave it for 20 mins to cool down.
anyway - what should I replace it with ?
I've tried the cutters with the external water trough & i dont like them - they spill a lot of water.
So, ideally, one with an internal water trough
Most pro tilers knock the Plasplugs cutters - but i really like(d) mine.
I would buy another one in a minute, but as you all know, Plasplugs have gone down the swannie.

Dont want to spend any more than £150 if I need to

Any thoughts?

David

What about the Plasplugs Master Tiler remake, Versatile whatever it's branded now. 180mm wheel and 750 watt, £100. Worth the £100 all day long.

It seems Plasplugs website still sells the wetsaws but they're near enough double the price.

I picked up a small overflow tray that is to put a water heater in. About five cm bigger on all sides to catch the drips.

Ive always used the Plasplugs wet cutters because of how good the water holder is, and the fact you can carry machine without spilling the water. But now mines due to replaced i dunno where im gonna find a plasplugs now ,as my B&Q dont seem to be stocking them now , I know plasplugs are up and running again ?

I was in the exact same boat as you.
I ended up buying the big one out of B&Q
Vitrex / Versatile one. (in the sale at the moment for £70!!)
Its £130 in Screw fix.
Its really good.
750w too...
