at the moment i'm just using a cheap electric drill with a paddle in the end, but i think it's on way out as i keep smelling burning!!any advise on a proper mixing drill to buy? without spending £200 on a rubi mortar mixer. are there any cordless ones available?

they look like the rubi ones, but a frction of the cost, might treat myself, got a couple of biggish floors coming up

With them silverline hi-tech mixers is the paddle that is included with it suitable for mixing addy and grout or would ou have to buy a seperate one? if so could you guide me in the right direction as to which ones would be suitable for which? and how much you would expect to pay for one? Cos im after a mixer and they look very good for the price!
Cheers
Chris

I have the Sparky one from screwfix and have had it about 3 yrs or so now...very good machine and gets used daily..... I have changed the paddle to a makita one couple of months back as i kept forgetting to clean the old one.....lol lol.....

Might have a look at that one. Do you think that silverline is any good for a 'starter' mixer cos of the price and did you notice if it has the same thread as the sparky one?

Most paddle mixers are the M14 thread.........Sparky tools have a good name ....

There are more expensive ones but i have mixed with mine a lot of stuff from adhesives and levellers through to even dryish screed mixes and it copes no bother....it really has had some stick.........as for the silverline one's then i can't comment as never used there tools.........
