Hello guys,

I've just about to grout my wetroom and I'm wondering on which grey to use.

The tiles are a marble effect greenie / grey walls and floor except for the shower base area which area mixture of cream and dark marple mosaics.

I originally bought white to do the whole lot and have installed white trims. I've since decided again white walls and floor due to it looking grubby.

Manhattan would give contrast against the tiles compared to the dark Anthracite but I'm wondering if that may still look grubby too.

Has anyone experience with these two colours?

Thanks in advance

J

Hi There. Are you doing the wet tray in epoxy or cement grout? I would suggest maybe doing the tray in a different colour to the rest of the room. Possibly I would do the tray in anthracite as I personally think grey can look bland. If I can find them i'll put up some photos of a wet room marble I did in grey that the customer wanted in manhatten. If you can post a couple of pics that would help. Kevin

Hello Kevin,

Thanks for coming back to me. I actually decided to do the whole lot in Anthracite in the end. I thought a light grey would clash with the greens etc in the tile, not that I really know what I'm talking about lol! I must admit, the marble tray doesn't look quite as good as I would have hoped, i read a few times that colours that contrast too much take your eye away from the tile itself, I think this may have happened lol.

To be honest, at the moment it all looks very dark, we'll see what it looks like come morning. God knows how it's taken me 6+ hours to grout the whole lot but there you go.

I actually got right near to the end, 1kg left to do the tray marble, got half way through and ran out of gear, where the hell to get mapei colour fast @ 16:00 on a saturday! Wickes front page had now stocking Mapei, two minutes from my house, job done!

I'll get some piccies up for the finished results of my first DIY wetroom :)

Look forward to the piccies. :)

lol typically, the Mapei colour fast that came from wickes, is much darker than the stuff I picked up from screwfix. Thankfully, it was only used on the floor but still! Not good!
