Kitchen floor grout / prevent staining...

I plan on using Mapei Ultracolour Plus on a kitchen floor. Is there anything I can do to prevent staining etc... for example if Spag Bol gets dropped, or cooking oil gets spilt...?

Any additives you can reccommend?

It's 113 - Gris Cemento

It's meant to be a darkish grey. I'm asking because a pan of spag bol was dropped this weekend...

or you could apply a sealer afterwards. sealguard is a popular one now and is easy to use, it comes in a spray can

if you want your grout to never stain and stay the same colour forever use epoxy

Epoxy grout is great in cooking areas, it's designed to take a battering but if your not a pro it's not an easy grout to use.

If it's DIY just use sealant. Pretty much does the same job.

Thanks for the advice. I've seen Sealguard somewhere before so I'll give that a try.

I would go for epoxy myself but as has been said it is not the easiest to use for a DIY project. If you use Ultracolor and then seal, you should be good with that. I personally dont like the spray sealers, much prefer the paint on jobbies but thats just me.

No its not just you Rich!.......I dont like them much either. Its hard to gauge coverage compared to traditional sealers
