How much should i be charging per m2 to tile back splashes

I just been and quoted for 4.6m2 they are 10cm by 10cm tiles (ceramic) and she wants them diamond style plus 2 skts to cut around?

I used to generally say ad 30 - 50% on the price for diamond tiling as all the edge tiles are going to be cuts, unlike normal tiling.

It's a pain in the arse quoting for splashbacks to be honest, they all come out different, some you win, some you loose.

Charge what you think you can squeeze out of the custoemr but you'll be fighting the job based on price in most cases with small jobs and there will be the 'undercutters' about too for that type of work.

You want you daily wage mate. At least.

Dan's right - these are the kind of jobs where you have to price highly because of the amount of cuts involved (time consumption) and accurate setting out.

This is an absolute classic job where you will get the poorly trained '4 day tiler' come along and quote for the coverage. i.e 4.6m2 x 18 = £83. Add bits = £95.

3 days later he will still be there, making a complete balls up of the job.....

It should take a skilled tiler 1 - 1.5 days to do a completely perfect job, and should be paid accordingly.

I just quoted one tonight, 5 m2 splashbacks, 4 sockets (not that that really matters) 2 windows to finish into with chrome trim £250, days work done to perfection:wink_smile:

so would you say that £200 is ok for the above job i quoted? Some one else quoted £120 before i went and he never turned up to do the job plus its a 14 mile round trip there and back to my place .

Push a bit more if you can. But thats sounds ok if you can't.

I'm saying no more about the guy before you....
