I have a bathroom to do where the whole room is cream apart from black tiles going at the end of the bath.

The idea is that if you are having a shower you are in the black part of the room.

So I am using cream grout on the walls and flloors but they want black grout in that area.

So, how do I get one colour to meet the other colour in a clean and crisp fashion.

Hope you understand what I mean

Re: Joing Different Grouts

I'd do the black first by using a ruler or something that can fit in the grout joint so you can grout up to it and not spill into the cream joints. then I'd do the same the other way around to get the cream upto the last grout joint near the black. Then it's just some steady hand grouting for the last vertical grout joint that I'd do cream.

You probably will need to do some small touching up after and I'd make sure your grout isn't too runny around that bit.

Somebody will probably come up with a better idea though so hang in there.

Re: Joing Different Grouts

also cover the cream joints with some good quality masking tape:thumbsup:

i would do the black first

Me too always do dark colour first:thumbsup: good luck, oh and let the dark side go off. Before doing light

The sticky window insulation foam tape fits a treat into tile gaps to stop the dark grout running into it before the light grout...

Pretty much as mentioned above - Did similar recently with grey and cream - Do the dark first, let it go off then mask it and do light...once thats setting any 'overlap' can be tidied up 'very gently' with a sharp stanley knife blade.

steady hand whenever i've done it, but if you're not confident it wouldn't do any harm to seal the dark grout before applying the lighter shade
