Job Costing

Would anyone like to share there costing policy when pricing jobs, at the moment i charge £25 per square meter, this includes adhesive grout and trim. Am i far off the mark ? seem to get kept really busy ,not sure if this is because of the price or standard of tiling 🙂
Any views would be greatly appreciated

Depends where in the country you are, I'd say you should be charging £25 + materials for regular ceramics, a little more for porcelain.

im in Glasgow Scotland, left tiling about ten years ago and just started again on my own in January of this year, so i'm a bit out of touch

What you charge may be reasonable where you are, I'm at the other end of this Island in Surrey, so it's a littel difficult to compare like for like. Glasgow Prices aren't going to be London prices, although being a major city you should be a sensible rate.

Try going in at £30 and see what reaction you get, you should be losing at least 25% of your quotes or it's a sign you're underselling yourself.

That's a good way to look at it, if you get 100% of your work you should be able to increase your pricing by a % and loose a certain % and find a comfortable level eventually where you are working for good money but still have weeks/months of work ahead.

Ceramic on wall £25 per m2
On floor £30 per m2

Natural stone wall £30 per m2
Natural stone floor £35 per m2

Mosaics £40 - £60 per m2

These prices vary depending on how many bad cuts i have to do. I also factor in petrol price, if the job is a bit of a drive from me. The price is inclusive off matrials though!

do u work with nat stone or only ceramic also work in ure area. I charge by sounding out the person and the job, like u just stated to work for myself.
