Discuss Is Bal Mosaic Fix really worth it? in the Canada Tile Advice area at TilersForums. The USA and UK Tiling Forum (Also now Aus, Canada, ROI, and more)
My local Merchant now stock Bal Mosaic Fix. Just wondered if it's really worth the extra money? All i can really see, is that its a bright white colour. Anything else i'm missing here? Iv been using CTF4 for the last year and its great. White enough for me. Any other opinions on it?
To the thread title.
NO!!!
I personally don't think it's worth it & it's bloody expensive for what it is. CTF4, White Star or Grip does for me. My local Topps stores have always had it & it just gathers dust
Probably not but its a great product, one of the very best imo.
Get ARDEX X77
For €70 a bag, I'd have to say NO
expensive ....yes..... but imo its a very good adhesive, which just about sums bal up, they make great products, but there prices are way to expensive...
Have to agree with Andy Allen they make great products but are pricing themselves out of the market
Used it a couple of times last year and it's exceptionally good for glass mosaics which require a solid background and no colour show (apart from white). I didn't think it was that expensive at CTD.
No CTD have it very cheap. Great supplier. Is it that white?? I mean like grout white?

yes
Like Simon cowell teeth white?! That white?
For mosaic i try not to use anything else.
Pure white, stays very consistent when mixed and don't forget it is for mosaic work so with a 4/6mm trowel goes a very long way.
I personally think it is well worth what i pay for it.
I use Mapei Adesilex P10, great stuff.
I did use 2 bags of mosaic fix this weekend for the first time. Awesome bond strength and no slipping at all. 400x300mm ceramic tiles. Yes it's white and did work well on the mosaic tile boarder but I found it did set quickly in the pot. A lot quicker than other slow setting adhesives. Just my opinion on it.
