When you fix the board with adhesive can you tile onto it straight away?,,,,i have also heard people just using pva to stick it down and screw it too. whats wrong with this way?

2nd that impact driver with a gold bit 🙂 use rapid set tile adhesive then screw, then tile straight away

Once the board is fixed when your ready to tile just wipe it down with a damp sponge! And tile away

Is there a reason not to use PVA to stick it down instead of adhesive?....if the existing is allready quite flat?....if its all over the place i understand to use adhesive for the voids but if the floor is pretty decent would you still use the tile adhesive?

Great post thanks Bri, very helpful, just a quick question, when you say that any deflection should be rectified before laying the Hardiebacker, do you mean by say laying SLC first to even it up?, I have a chipboard floor to do that is out by 10-15mm in places and was thinking of self levelling first then putting the Hardiebacker down onto the SLC with SPF, if this is acceptable would the SBR be ok to prime the chipboard with ready for the SLC (which will be Weber Floorflex)?
