I would be very grateful for some knowledgable advice.

We've had a new shower valve fitted by a plumber, but am hoping to make good the wall myself. It's a very old bathroom and
will be replaced at some point, so I just need to make it waterproof and useable for the kids.

My plan was was to seal the brickwork with PVA, whack in some bonding plaster to bring to approx level, then fit 6 generic white tiles with
waterproof grout/adhesive...

Any comments or suggestions would be gratefully received
