I've been, this afternoon, to screed a floor where the sparky has fitted the electric heating mats, before tiling - when I got there he had used 2 mats by 2 different manufacturers in a 4m2 area:yikes: They were the flat 'pallet strap' element type and had sprung up all over the place and were around 50mm up off the concrete in most places:incazzato: He had tried to stick them down with 'No-Nails' and weighted the mats down with boxes and bits of timber:incazzato:

Anyway after a quick call to the builder I was back in my van and home in time for Countdown:lol:

Going back in the morning to see if it's sorted, but don't hold out any hope:thumbsdown:

The annoying thing is that I'd priced to supply and fit the mat(singular) but was told I was too dear:mad2:

Frustrating m8!, when you say the concrete is has it not been fitted with insulation boards?

Here they are!
This is an all too common occurrence on many sites these days, sad but true. Standards tend to take second place to quotas. It's all to do with schedules. Everything has to be done yesterday. A lot of the Guy's here on the Forum, who don't normally do site work, would end up having a seizure if they'd seen the things I'd seen.:thumbsdown::thumbsdown:

forgive me for asking but..

i have never done any underfloor heating (installing wise) its something i would like to learn more about if anyone could pm about different types and how to lay etc fix down i would be grateful.

Just bumping some threads in the underfloor heating forum. You can now find and search for both electric underfloor heating and water underfloor heating threads. By the way, if you feel some of the threads you want to be seen at the top of the forum need to be bumped back, for the next month or so from now, feel free to do that. Although it's not usually something we allow, whilst we're going through this process of changing over forum software, we see the need for this to happen.
