Fixing aquapanels to brick walls

Hi,

Doing my wetroom but want to know is the best method going to be to dot n dab cement boards to brick wall or to run a membrane over the wall?

Im going to use wickes aquapanel or wickes tanking fleece for this - cant really see, if installed correctly, these products can be any different to tilesafe or all the other expensive products out there.

Quick question..Do I have to get a former for the shower area or can I just use plywood and membrane at a slope to a waste?

wickes aquapanel cannot be dot n dabbed it can only be screwed to timber.
