hi, whats the best way to cut a small square (50mmx50mm) in the middle of a porcelain floor tile?
bit too small for an angle grinder or plunge cut with a wet cutter.

From the back as above, but try getting one of these babies as well:thumbsup:

If you want to go in

FROM THE FRONT

1. Mark it out

2. Start to drill the tile with a diamond core drill bit

3. Use the diamond core tile drill to put a hole all the way through to the back of your tile.

4. Water cut or wetsaw etc to cut the gaps out between the holes

5. Drilling four holes from the FRONT of the porcelain tile guarantees that:
a) You are 100% sure where the hole / socket will end up !
b) Will drill a chip free hole out of the tile - (No blow out)
c) Can visually see the blade as it cuts the straight lines (you can look through the holes)
d) The edge of the blade will definatly stop short rather than run on into the tile.

This is shown on a soft ceramic but the example works on a porcelain.
