Hi Guys

I have a customer who has posed me a problem with something they want to acheive and thought someone on here might have came across something similar before.

They have a bathroom approx 2.2m x 2.6m and what the lady would like is to put her shower in one corner and have a wetroom floor without a screen, wants to use large format tiles, no mosaics and no cuts tile to fall into the drain, also doesnt want the lip you have when using any of the decks for linear drains.

A challenge to say the least!!!!! The only thing i can think of is to basically slope the whole floor into the corner with the drain which could be perhaps a 600 wide linear drain or i had thought of possibly something like the one purus do for a corner although i have my doubts that i could get it to fit in as this is on a suspended timber floor and there is a joist in the way.

Other issues like wanting an electric heated floor add to the complications somewhat but anyone here have any ideas or suggestions i would be grateful.

Cheers
Mervyn

Hi Mervyn,
That's what I'd do, slope the whole floor, if u have access to underneath the sub floor maybe pack on top of the joists to the fall u require?
This floor was sloped in its entirety to match floor levels from one side to the other. There's 50mm slope on it left to right.

Unless I'm reading it wrong this doesn't sound too difficult at all.
Lends itself to one of Shluters boxed up kits with a linear drain.

Remember on the course @3_fall @whitebeam? Was one of the classroom demos. Straight out the box, unfold the deck, slopes down to a full width linear.

My first thought Ali, however,

@davidsmerv any chance you can provide a picture or sketch? I'm certain you're not the first to be asked to achieve such things. There must be a system out there to do it.
Or you create your owen with schluters kerdi board and band.

Ill get a sketch done when i get a chance but cant see any of the linear kits working to achieve what they want, im thinking along the lines of having to slope the whole floor into one corner. Reckon it could be done ok but would be a heck of a lot of work.

Thanks for the replies

Mervyn

This is exactly what you're trying to achieve.
This is a Wedi linear drain, I tipped the whole floor but it was only 1.9m across.
And the obvious difference is that it has small partition wall, cos on other side was washing machine!
