Concrete Grinders

I don't know what the paint is on this one job that we have to do...we put 40 grit on a really aggressive sander and it didn't touch it. I don't know anything about copper discs...I have to check into that. Thanks.

you can save yourself a lot of money by buying a grinder cup wheel for your 4 1/2 inch grinder and also purchasing a dust extraction guard Broken Link Removed

Does any one have a concrete grinder, or have used one like this one by Makita?

Bosch makes one that is similar in size and price. (about $400 US)

Hilti has one that is about 4+X the price (aobut $1800 US), but the Hilti rep won't commit to anything :mad2:when I ask him questions about the tool, and I am not going to spend that much money on a tool that I can't either use first or get some good answers from someone that has used it.

I want to use the tool for standard concrete prep for tile-remove paint, coatings, stains, blackjack, etc. I don't need to do large, commerical-sized preparations because we only do residential.

Hi Rob Z i bought the Makita concrete grinder a few years ago and i can say its a little gem of a machine , i us it for taking high spots off supposedly flat floors also when ive screeded dips in floors i us the grinder to feather the edges when the screed is dry . I usually hook up an hoover to suck the dust up , the grinder has saved me alot of time and money .
