..is £50 a sq mt to tile a bath with 8x6" white tiles expensive ?...
I don't charge per mt and yes supply addy and grout but any colours is down to them at cost
So your not a tiler then, comfort zone or not you should be able to price a bog standard bathroom,8x6 is basically what I would leave my apprentice on ,no offence meant.Because I'm considering passing on the tiling work and was scared away with these sorts of prices...i only take on jobs I'm comfortable with but if there is bathroom refits where tiling is outside my comfort zone then ill pass it in to a pro...now that I know what the ball park figure should realistically be
Peterborough is a funny one at the moment...mostly Cambridge and Huntington and surrounding villages..been quoting against a "eastern European" man in Peterborough and seem to lose out to him..his work looks good to be fair..but won 2 in same house in Oundle which i start in 2 weeks...want to give me a quote for tiling ?
So as not to confuse matters here..I know exactly how to price my work....it so happens I priced a job fitting a bathroom suite and tiling around bath...but when i was finished the women hit me with what others had quoted her..and the tiler had quoted £50 a sq mt the plumber £250 a day for 3 days..the whole job took me 3 days including tiling..as im not a "professional tiler" I have a comfort zone...so been pondering other work I would normally turn away for fear of cocking it up..if I know what sort of pricing I can expect from a pro tiler then I can quote based on the prices per sq mt with a little addition rather than I turn up and a tiler which is not always convenient ..so just getting an idea for the future...
