Advice on subfloor

Hi, I’m after some advice.

I’m installing UFH heating in my bathroom. The floor has been recently replaced with 22mm chipboard and is very solid. I’ve been spending some time reading through various posts on the forums. Unfortunately from what I read I should have used 22mm Ply instead of the chipboard but can’t go back now as I would need to remove the shower and some other fittings.

So this leads onto the big question, what should I put on top to give the best substrate for the UFH, tiles etc.. as most people I don’t want to go to mad with a large step into the bathroom, but if it’s got to be done then so be it.

I was thinking 6mm hardibacker, UFH cable, SLC, tile adhesive then 9mm tile would not be too bad. Or maybe 10mm Marmox but that would push the height up, not sure 6mm Marmox would be any good?

Hope I’m talking sense, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hope there is some insulation under the chipboard.
Marmox at 6mm insulation boards, as long as chipboard is a load bearing base.
The 6mm insulation board will need an overall extra thickness of 8mm: 6mm board with 2mm powder flexible tile adhesive under the boards to fix.

Warm regards,

I've just read this and it probably answers my questions. I'm in nearly the same situation but have traditional timber floor boards. I'm going to tile addy then marmox.
