A New Comer who is unsure of his Career Path

Morning Folks,

Just a quick note to say Hi and let you know a bit about me.

I'm 23 just now and work in a Call Centre, I really can't think of somewhere else that I'd rather be less than that place, I think it kills me a little bit inside each day haha.

I was going to go to College for Joinery this year but the course is full and I have considered tiling a few times so I am now having a look into that and have been looking at the Tiler Training School in Edinburgh.

Any words of wisdom would be appreciated.

its a very rewarding career ,hard work , and you will all ways be learning, you need to find the right course,do your home work ,visit the training centre before you commit, try and speak with people who have done the course or people who are on one now
think of the outlay , tools ,a van , liability insurance , its very competitive out there , keep your present job, most new comers to the trade ,will prob start by doing tiling for there friends, it will be a slow process , if you decide to go down this path speak will other tilers in your area ,maybe they will let you join them on a job offer your sevices for free to gain some knowledge of how things are done, they may not want to do this ,as you are potential competition, me personally i would

Could you do your call centre job part time? Perhaps try tiling with someone at the weekends to see if its for you,before you commit to anything. Good luck.
