A shower is a place in which a person bathes under a spray of typically warm or hot water. Indoors, there is a drain in the floor. Most showers have temperature, spray pressure and adjustable showerhead nozzle. The simplest showers have a swivelling nozzle aiming down on the user, while more complex showers have a showerhead connected to a hose that has a mounting bracket. This allows the showerer to hold the showerhead by hand to spray the water at different parts of their body. A shower can be installed in a small shower stall or bathtub with a plastic shower curtain or door. Showering is common in Western culture due to the efficiency of using it compared with a bathtub. Its use in hygiene is, therefore, common practice.
I'm looking for advice on how to fix two 6mm toughened, backpainted glass panels to a Marmox board substrate. The first picture shows the current state of the installation. The second picture is a computer generated visualisation of how its intended to look. I'd like to have the glass flush with...
I have a custom 1/2 tempered glass splash guard 59 long by 64 tall. I plan on attaching it to the wall with 3 clamps and only silicone to attach to the heated floor. No cross member to steady the free corner of the panel. I realize it's probably not ideal to do this however I'm looking for the...
Hi everyone. I am about to start building a wetroom. My plan is as follows:
JACKOBOARD AQUA LINE EASY LINEAR wetroom tray, I plan on installing this on the joists alongside 18mm WBP ply.
I then plan on putting 6mm jackoboard over the ply, electric underfloor heating mat(4mm) and then self...
Hope you don't mind me asking but 18 months after our walk in shower was installed, we have discovered that the porcelain tiles (600 x 300) affixed to the walls (Kudos boarding) have yet to set ! We discovered this when changing a light fitting that was installed in the shower wall and was...

Hi all,
Looking for a bit of advice. I had my bathroom refitted about 18 months ago and the grout appears to be failing in the shower area (impey shower tray underneath). I’ve let it dry out over the last four days but there are still damp patches - in particular closest to the drain. My...
Good afternoon. First time posting. Been watching the forum for a while, all the advice I’ve needed I’ve been able to find.
I’m tiling my shower soon. One wall is going to be mosaics. Hexagons, not my choice. But hey. Do as I’m told. I’ve done quite a few showers and bathrooms, not a...

Hi, We have recently had our bathroom updated and a new Brick nib wall put in and tiled. Within 6 weeks it had cracked on both sides and metal trim had come away. The bathroom renovator came back and replaced the tiles with new adhesive (type used in pools) but I have noticed after 3 weeks it...
Hi!
we recently bought a new build property and all bathrooms have been tiled fully. The kitchen through to the orangery also has large floor tiles.
The tiler has done an awful job. Lots of chipped tiles, dirty grout marks all over the tiles, missing grout and uneven tiles. A major issue too is...
Shower walls are not 90' running out 25mm on a 760mm wide tray. I don't want to sink shower tray into the wall. I am going to use SDS insulated boards and tile them. Any ideas how to square off the wall making up the 25mm before tiling ?
Who is at fault here? Our builders built a stud wall and secured backer board to it. Our tiler then proceeded to tile onto it. We had multiple tiles crack along one vertical line where the two backer boards met. Upon removing tiles, one backer board was only secured with 6 screws and there were...

I'm doing a wet room and I am just about to lay the Impey aqua dec linear 2 shower former and attach tile backer boards to the stud wall.
I feel that I should put the former down first, butted right up to the studs in the stud wall then install the backer boards so they hang over the lip of the...
Hi all
Looking for some advice on the Wedi system.
I’m installing a Wedi Fundo Riolito Neo 1200 x 800mm former on a suspended timber floor (25mm ply on joists with Wedi board over rest of floor and on walls).
Looking at a number of videos on YouTube it seems in the US that the Wedi trays...
Hi everyone,
Completely new to this forum but saw some excellent advice being given out so thought I'd give it a try.
I'm looking at installing 2 wetrooms and I'm looking for 2 complete kits to be shipped to Spain.
I've had my eye on a few different kits.
Aquaseal (Sika) with pre formed...
Can anybody give advice please.
I have employed a comapny to convert a downstairs cloakroom into a walk in shower and toilet because of my disabilties.
The problem I have is that the Linear shower drain works but after about 3 minutes the water starts to flood the toilet area. I have inserted...

Hi,
I'm in a process of prepping before retiling my bathroom. I've stripped the old tiles with adhesive down to some old plaster (I think it is an old sand and cement coat). I've also installed the STS tile backing boards on the other wall where the new bath with a shower will go. See the...
