paint
Paint is any pigmented liquid, liquefiable, or solid mastic composition that, after application to a substrate in a thin layer, converts to a solid film. It is most commonly used to protect, color, or provide texture to objects. Paint can be made or purchased in many colors—and in many different types, such as watercolor or synthetic. Paint is typically stored, sold, and applied as a liquid, but most types dry into a solid. Most paints are either oil-based or water-based and each has distinct characteristics. For one, it is illegal in most municipalities to discard oil-based paint down household drains or sewers. Clean-up solvents are also different for water-based paint than they are for oil-based paint. Water-based paints and oil-based paints will cure differently based on the outside ambient temperature of the object being painted (such as a house.) Usually, the object being painted must be over 10 °C (50 °F), although some manufacturers of external paints/primers claim they can be applied when temperatures are as low as 2 °C (35 °F).

What are your opinions regarding sealing stone by sealing the full tile, front, back and sides before fixing. Do you think it would impair the adhesive bond ?

I was contacted by a previous customer in the week who was not happy with how his fireplace had been sealed. He was concerned with the quality of the sealer they had applied and wanted me to reseal it. I tested it and after a few minutes it had soaked up some water. I told him that I would seal...
Hi
We have some Niro Granite Porcelain Floor tiles (non-slip). They are about 99% non-porous, but the dirt just sticks to the top and is very difficult to remove.
I have managed to remove this (with a lot of scrubbing) with Lithofin Intensive Cleaner, but after that it just packs back on. Upon...

Hi,
I'm in the process of laying some Energie Ker Night White porcelain tiles. They're made in Italy, they're basically "part polished" if that's the right description... sort of a speckled/dimpled tile, with the highest parts polished and the lower parts glazed if that makes sense (not deep...

Hello All. I am about to lay some reclaimed terracotta tiles. I have some LTP sealer to seal them before laying and grouting. My question is, should I seal the back or just the surface that will show?
Thanks.

I do not like tiling over paint even if it is well sanded. I prefer to remove it. I have found that using a steamer softens the paint so it can be scraped off quite easily. BUT you must NOT hold the steamer over the paint for more than a few seconds, keep it moving and just do a small area at a...

Hi,
I have just bought polished marble mosaics which I plan to use a feature in my shower. These need to be sealed, the shop recommended LTP MPG sealer, just wondering how best to apply the sealant?
Does it need to be applied to the mosaic sheets before it is put up onto the wall? How many...
Hi All,
