we use different products depending on the clients needs and wall types last week we did a 1930,s semi with poor quality breeze blocks so our method was 12mm hardy backer board over a 12 mm rapid setting adhesive also mechanically fixed using concrete fixings and wedi ring fixings we prefer concrete fixing rather than the backer board screws the fixing are 80mm

Ever thought about dri linning....

I can honestly see zero reasons why anyone would need to use hb on walls when there are better alternatives. Just madness.

we thought about that first but this was a wet area and ruled that out we wanted to ad strength and hb was our best option

I dont see your point of going to all that bother, of fixing Hardie to walls. When you have to tank them anyway.
Could have done that with moisture board.
If it's a weight issue, then yes.

that was bad advice then ray! I'd only recommend putting hardie on walls to someone I really really didn't like very much.
