Hi There
Got a chance to tile a wet room, any advice on how to cut to the sloping drain?

Regards Vince.

depending on size and shape of tiles you are fixing its hard to say. assuming they are 300*300 layed standerd where the falls meet cut the tiles from corner to corner. Its difficult to give advice on this as so many variations a little more info and i'm sure someone in here will be able to help.

HI. VINCE, as t1 says its hard to say until you know wot format of tile you are using.
what method of water tanking are you going to use.

Think of the base of the shower area as an envelope shape,4 triangle shapes that strike through the centre of the gulley.Easier not to use rapid set when tiling these as you will need to play around a bit to get it spot on goood luck mate

I had a question like this a while ago that Dan helped me wiv by sending me a home drawn diagram 🙂 I bet he still has it somewhere, and they were 300 x 300.

could you not persuade customer to go for mosaic round the drain say it will make it a feature and a lot easier for you

I remember doing that. Did I send it you via email?

I done one bout three months back. Asked builder to leave bathroom with no flooring or drywall. Set out drain position and then shaved the joists at an angle to give 15mm run all round. Then screwed down 18mm ply which took to shape of floor, tanked out and tiled with travertine mosaic from topps, Took a perfect form to the shape of floor and the dimensions of tile were perfect to match in with grate for drain. Tanked walls, tiled onto floor, sealed, and sealed and sealed again. Worked a treat, water running away from all corners with ease!

if you can centre the floor of the shower ,then put six tiles on floor then draw your lines through the middle of the tiles like you are cutting them on an angle ,obviously work out where the drain cuts are and cut them out
