wet room - floor boards

Hi, I would love a wet room - but we've been advised that because we have floor boards this isn't a good idea - any advise or suggestions welcome, thanks Gill

Who told you you can't have a wetroom because of floor boards? The simple answer without seeing your floor, would be to remove them and replace with 22mm ply......

Hi Gillian... yes it is possible.. you just need to prep the floor correctly.. if you need a run down on how this should be done then the members will help you..

Wet rooms need to be thought about before you go ahead and start.
Replacing the boards with ply is certainly the first step as this will help stabalise the floor. Meanwhile i'd recommend going on youtube and looking at Schluter Ditra Drain, or Kerdi Line Drain, these demonstrate pre formed showerbases and tanking systems that are fairly easy to install, and above all work.
Get an experienced tiler to go in FIRST and discuss what you want, getting a chippy or a plumber in first without consulting the tiler will lead to lots of hassle.
