I'm planning to replace old vinyl type flooring in my utility room with tiles and am considering ceramic tiles. However I am concerned about the possibility of damage from vibration of my washing machine. Will ceramic tiles withstand vibrations from a modern front loading washing machine? The tiles will be laid on a concrete base.

There should be no problem with the ceramic tile as long as they're fixed on a solid bed of adhesive.... If your still concerned about the ceramic tiles, why not use porcelain, as they are much harder..
