Hi I have tumbled edge lime stone tiles, about 10 mm thick, when cut is there a quick and easy way to make the cut edge look tumbled ie the same as the other three uncut sides .

Why would you need to keep a cut edge on show... are you cutting strips or summet..?

OH!! Hello and welcome..

I've used a lath hammer to tap the edges but others may have other implements, then give it a light sanding but remember limestone can mark very easily

I use a file to shape then finish off with sand paper in varying grits... go canny and it will look ok..

:iagree: I file mine, prob not the quickest way of doing it but I think its worth spending the time to make the job perfect.

Yep!! there are faster ways if you just want to chamfer etc but to get a tumbled finish then it is worth spending a few mins longer on it to get the desired look..

Hi guys, yep I use a file also, along with sandpaper, and occasionally an angle grinder if the edges are heavily tumbled before finishing with the file and sandpaper, sometimes a small stone chisel is good if you need to take part of the top of the natural bed of the stone off too.

Have fun

Ken
