Tilemaster Ultimate problem !

Tiled my floor today and used a part bag of Ultimate for the 1st row. Then I used what else I had to finish the rest of the floor . This was about 9.30am ....the other adhesive has set but the Ultimate is still wet !!! Anyone else had issues lately ?

I've used quite a bit of the ultimate!
Never had anything like that happen Neil? Strange!!!
Did the other half of the bag go off?

Not sure Andy as I went back the following day to grout. It may just be slow, I dunno ?

Not come across that yet Neale, mind you I've never used Ultimate so I wouldn't have would I? :lol:

My local shop doesn't stock the ultimate now so I just mix flexmaster with tradeflex when I need that extra umph and it's always gone off?

Ahh well if it doesnt set at least I can take them up with no problem. No big deal but put me off it

Norcros rapid porcelain (purple bag) exactly the same. If I have a part bag on the van more than a week or so I find it takes an age to go off. It's like once the bag is opened and exposed to the air it loses its accelerator. I'm no chemist though so purely guesswork!

Hi Neale. I'm wondering if perhaps the bag you have was produced during the summer and therefore has a higher addition of retarder in the mix. Please could you let me have the batch number and i'll ask the Chemists to take a look at the product tomorrow morning.
I'm surprised by this but lets have a look and then we can go from there.
The adhesive will set and once set the properties of the adhesive will be the same as adhesive that sets as it should around 3 hours.
Please do let me know of any small issues like this, its important to keep on top of things like this.
