Tiled Sink

Did u see the sink?
Made from 4.8mm porcelain.
Why do u need to polish the underside?

I was planning on using left over tiles from the walls and floor or possibly a thicker 20mm tile to create the walls but doing that one side would be unfinished. I guess I could use two 12mm tiles back to back however and that would solve that problem. In fact that would probably be better as the corners could overlap which would make it easier to stick together and perhaps a bit more robust afterwards.

Do you have any suggestions as to how to create the run off towards the drain? Initial thoughts were that I could create the surface in two parts, one larger slightly sloped section that would direct the water to a smaller flat section at the back with the drain in.

My tiling experience is limited to the splashback behind my kitchen sink so simple is good - also I don't want to spend much money in case it looks awful afterwards 🙂

So you're talking about sink walls, if u will, being only 24mm thick?
I'm sure @GaryTheTiler, the guy who built the sink, would have some ideas on the fall in the sink base.
Possibly in such a small surface area, a fall is not so critical as u may believe,
as long as it is level.

Yes - something like the pic below. The tap would most likely end up behind and the joins on the walls of the sink at the top would be covered over with the counter top.
