I've got a floating floor to do (Yeah, I know!!), approx 40 sqm. Currently the client has 150mm sq tiles which have been down for over 12 years and not one crack in site, gout or otherwise???

They want to go with a 3 tile porcelain pattern.

I have said that I will only take on the job if they allow me to utilise a decoupling membrane but height is an issue. They don't want to exceed the current threshold heights which are flush with the oak flooring in adjoining rooms.

I normally use Ditra or Durabase which are both 3mm thick plus addy but would like to know if anyone can suggest a thinner alternative, please?

Good luck daz..

Yeah, yeah, I know! But not gonna get a holiday in Egypt so got to keep stacking the work up!

we do a product called Mapetex which may suit the job....we will need to talk through a few details first to see if its suitable -so give us a call on 01215086970

Hi m8

If you have a floating floor then first I would not recomend tiling on it second if you go adead you need a true uncoupling membrane such as Dura-ci or a ditra mat.

A membrane under the standard 3mm ish depth will NOT do what you are asking of it, I dont care how many airports pecilastic have done and Mapetex is not made for the market its a release membrane with crack bridging properties....................

..

not sure membrane over the standard 3mm ish depth will do it either, how many airports have used pecilastic Wetdec ? 😛ete
