Struggling with 3-way mitre trim

Not a fan of 3 way mitres. Even when done properly they just don't look right imo. Straight upright and left and right mitred still looks smarter, even if there is a protruding point.

Oh how I hate protruding points in 3 way mitres. Shouts laziness / incompetence IMO
