Silverline Multi-Tool

Tilers Forums Official Sponsors

Hi, I've managed to get along fine without a multi-tool. I've been planning on getting one when the need arises, but so far I can't justify the expense. However, I've got a little bit of something to do at home, removing a bit of tricky skirting that a built-in wardrobe has been buillt over. I saw this the other day Silverline Tools - Power Tools / Silverstorm Power Tools Obviously there's Fein and other better and more expensive brands. But for £50ish do you think this will be ok to get started??? I know that once I get one I'll probably start to use it all the time hey.

4th item down, 10.8v multi-tool

I used the Bosch 10.8v for a couple of years and it was great however it died a few months ago. I've now got the Fein 110v and its awesome. I'd say for £50 it's worth a try. Do you not cut the bottoms of architraves when tiling floors Martyn?

I have one of the cheap multi saws. Works great, just make sure its got a mount that will take quality blades.
It's all about the blade, as all the rest is vibration.

I've got an old model Fein but I'm sure for occasional or light use a cheaper one will be fine with a decent blade.

Spend the extra and get the Bosch GOP. The cheaper ones only have 4 lugs on the flange whereas the better ones have about 20. The cheap machines break lugs off so lose 3 and the it's ruined.

I wouldnt buy power tools from silverline unless they are a 'named' brand, i bought wisks to sds drills from them, utter crap, spend a bit more IMO and get a decent one

The fein limited edition kit isn't really that expensive atm and absolutely worth it's weight in gold don't buy cheap cause architrave etc can be full of knots n nails which I've seen destroy my friends cheap one he wasn't happy :incazzato:
