self-leveling on impey tanking matt

hi all , has anyone self-levelled on top of impey tile membrane , the reason for the levelling is to cover the UFH matt for tiling any advice on what levelling compound's work or dont work appreciated. cheers

Yes, I have used ultra level it 2 (latex based) and weber floor flex, the weber would be the one I'd use if I did it again, purely because of the fibre content.

If you have tilemaster products available near you, the level flex SLC they do is equally as good as Weber's.

You're supposed to level before waterproofing aren't you?!

its a bathroom floor with wet tray and the plumber has covered the whole floor and wet tray with tanking matt , now there is ufh matt to go down all over , i prefer to cover the cable with self levelling thats why i am asking about levelling compount on impey tanking matt

The tray should have been kept higher to allow for the extra height of the UFH , this then would have kept a flat tiling field with out altering the fall ratio in the tray.

Are we talking about the sticky evil impey membrane? If it is, I wouldn't touch it. Awful evil nasty stuff!

Impey have a new one out now, can't for the life of me remember what it's called, water guard or something like that. It's sticky as hell on one side and fleece on the top, much thinner and much nicer to work with.

aye the sticky as one when u kneel on it ur stuck there for life 🙂 i am not a fan of it myself but the customer had bought it and the plumber has done the fitting of it all, prefer the weidi gear but will have to struggle on and try unstick myself from the floor
