ive never used this tape and from that video it looks really easy to use but then again they have picked a nice straight bath, nice glossy tiles to fix it to, a bath that sits against a wall and not enclosed in against 3 wall as most bath are, also who as taps like them these days. most taps these days are fancy things that sit close to the walls and a lot higher then them ones, just notice how his silicon gun fits over them nice(this never happens in real life). plus what happens further up the wall when say you get to a complex border tile or something similar your going to be left with silicon squirting out into the tiles etc wich could spoil the overall look of using the tape. I would say im more of a domestic tiler tiling bathrooms 95% of my total work and i cant see it being of any help to me. sorry.

using my trusty old finger:

what about modern day taps that are like these ones how do you use tape on here, they are near enough at the back of the bath touching the tiles.

Hi Sean,

Just noticed your comments, there are literaly 1000's of different taps out there so it would be impossible to for us to avoid comments as yours but I'll point out a few key things. And take a look at the video below. This shows who to get around taps from the other direction i.e when you can't roll the tape across the back of the taps.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wzyBV7GUa9M]YouTube - CornerTape System - Using behind taps[/ame]

1. CornerTape can be used at the back of taps quite easily as long as the gap between the taps and wall is 10mm or greater.

2. Because we're using cornertape you don't need to worry about gunning the Silicon in, in the usual way, i.e a nice even bead, if the gap is really tight at the back of the taps then you can slop it in with a stick if you wanted to.

3. Your pictures show a nice straight bath and tiles the same as ours?????

4. 'Complex boarder tiles' the silver cornertape is ultra thin so follows the contors of the surfaces, you don't get an idea of this from the video's, its not like normal masking tape.

5. Each to their own 'we say', if your happy with your finger then thats great, but as I'm sure everyone on here would agree, Silicon is an art, you can either do it well or you can't, and cornertape is for the later.:thumbsup:

Best regards
Andy

Just watched vid and though you bugger. When i did my bath my fingers stuck together my right hand sind off my jeans had very suspiscouse looking white marks all over them and by the end off it looked pants started off well but buggered off in a V by the end.

Although i can see it being a marmite product (you love it or hate it) for some one like me it would save a lot off time and improve the look off a job.

No mate i used masking tape.

A little like like but shorter. And with no hair luckily else id have ended up with dread locks.

Has anyone tried this stuff, or is it no better than using masking tape and your finger? It looks quite easy to apply for an amateur like myself without getting caked in sealant, or is the product simply snake oil?!

Cornertape Perfect Silicon Joints Every Time

imo it is just a gimick, god gave you all the tools you need, your fore finger.

the trick with Silicon is to use as little as possible and to add more where needed, its easy to add more but impossible to take it away.

less is more.

:thumbsup:

One hit for me but I use a water/fairy liquid spray on the Silicon which gives me a clean line
