Hi has anyone info on the Rubi ND 180 as i have a plasplugs contractor plus and on my second one but on my last job it has developed a fault so is going back and i was toying with just getting a ND180 as a replacement as there about the same price.

I am cutting ceramic and porcelain up to 12mm thick usally 300x600 or 600x600 max with no natural stone work so would appreciate any advice on this cutter or any other similar costing cutter .

Thanks All

I have just got the said model and a cpc2 blade...looks very well built and light in weight.....i will be using it t/moz and saturday...if you can wait i will be doing a review on it...with pics.........🙂...

there is a 110v 60Hz for the american market and im led to believe that the 60Hz is no good in the UK. This problem is being resolved.

You can get it (Rubi Branded) on ebay for £104, with case, but tbh tradetiler are doing them for about £110 - £115 with case and extra wheels.

Personally i think i'd rather pay the extra tenner or so, and know that if it breaks i'll have no problems changing it or having it repaired. I've made the mistake of saving a few quid by getting stuff from ebay before, and when i've had a problem the sellers vanished.

Of course not all ebay sellers are like this, but you pay your money and take your chance

One thing to note is that the Rubi ND-180-BL gets a reduced manufacturers warranty, 6 months instead of the usual 2 years.

Is that saying something about its durability or is it fair given the attractive price?

The beauty of the Plasplug units is the water re-circulation system.

I've spoken to many tilers who will happily use the Plasplugs inside for this very reason.

Husqvarna's TS 230 F also uses a similar idea to contain the water, I've used this saw a lot and am always impressed with its power and how well it is standing up in its tough environment - much more expensive though!

i use this cutter at the moment and personally dont like it.even after replacing its poor quality blade it came with to a much better one it doesnt provide a smooth cutting action,it definately doesnt perform as well as say the rubi nd200 so although i needed it to start out i shall be upgrading asap.
