Retiling wall preparation

Hi,

I have just removed the old tiles of the first wall of the bathroom and some of the plaster has come off with the tiles; also the top half looks like it was painted sometimes in the past.

Do you think I should try to remove all the old plaster and the paint before replastering, or just the bits which are coming off easily?

Also should I PVA the wall before plastering?

None whatsoever. It has a higher weight limit than plaster.

So in theory, all I have to do is to dot and dab the plasterboard to the wall (after I clean it to the blocks) and then prime it with something like Mapei Primer G?

if your going to re plaster than yes PVA the whole wall when tiling SBR IT.
