tiling bright red slash back down to a black work top, would white silicon look OK (white grout) or are there any black corner trims anywhere? (nothing on the tile rite page)

Yes white silicon will be fine, i got some black trim a while ago i think it was from a company called gemini, have a look on the web.

Yeah, I normally get the silicone to match the grout, not the coulur of tiles or worktop etc so white silicone should be fine for the job.
