Mosaic tile problems

Hi there I'm putting mosaic tiles behind my bathroom sink but the worktop is stepped down how would I get around this any advice would be most welcome. Thanks

1/2 inch mosaic and step just over 1/4 inch

Full piece of mosaic off the worktop and half piece cut to basin.

......and cut off the Silicon on the back wall, so that you get the mosaics 'square on' to the worktop/sink.

Yes I will doing prep work tomorrow before I start the tile that I cut is it only the one and place it in or do I need to cut all the ones along the sink. Thanks
