Well.. my lager on saturday night was very very cold and the few drips down the glass sides kind of left a puddle on my desk..didn't notice it but my mobile was laid in this puddle and is now poorly..:yikes:

Tried all day yesterday to dry it out and it is now working for calls.. the screen is darkish and cloudy and the memory card is knacked and all my pics gone.. etc..:mad2:

Sooo it might last till my upgrade in February.. was May but orange say i can upgrade early in feb..

How did you try to dry it, Dave? I know a little bit about this,... so details, please...🙂

Oh, nooo!! direct heat!! not good... hmmm.... do you think there is any moisture left inside? what you are SUPPOSED to do is remove all removable parts, like battery etc, as you did, clean all the parts you can reach with alcohol, even alcoholic contact spray works, (feels wrong to do it though, but it works like the alcoholic ear drops for swimmers ear... ) to disperse the water, and then stick it into a bowl of uncooked rice to absorb any moisture left, over night...

Might be worth paying the 2 months and get an upgrade now.......... you could also claim for a new phone on your house insurance for accidental damage and if you get a new one , sell to Envirophone. Did this with my last iphone after putting it through the washing machine.

If you need something to see you through a couple of months let me know and ill post one to you, just an old cheapie that i dont use anymore but itll call and text.

The phone was sat in this puddle all night till it played tunes to it's self and debs noticed it about 5am when she was up.. 🙂

So it does work now but screen has shady dark clouds on it....

I have actually used this method with the rice and it worked. It absorbed all of the stella artois out of my phone when a similar thing that happened to dave happened to me lol

My Daughter put her ipod touch thru the washing machine and i dried it out on a rad in a bowl of rice, after 3 days, worked a treat and smells lovely.

My mum put her mobile thru the wash last week. Real basic model and it worked fine. Then she lost it (the phone not her mind )
