marmox showertray opinions!

Has anyone one installed a marmox showerlay showertray? or had a look at one,what do you think of the build quality?,they seem very cheap compared to say an impey tray £70-£80 as against £300 for a 800x800?.What trays would you recommend? Thanks Phil.

if you are getting them for that price it will NOT include the trap!

Yes Dallmer drain for it is an extra £50.

agreed, that aside the trays are 20mm thick, not a problem provided they are supported correctly.

not my personal choice but my choice is nearer £300.

oh and marmox only do horizontal outlet traps, there is no vertical option.. also might not be a problem, its all to do with your situ.

I have not seen the product you are describing however I do know that Marmox are a very reputable company. These trays are to me an expensive commodity, not the one you are talking about but the £300-400 range, its like everything else, a new idea comes out and its expensive, newer alternative versions appear which are cheaper and they get slated, I think you have to make the decision that you want from us yourself, you have the product to hand and you can see all the technical information first hand, I doubt very much that Marmox would produce an inferior product that was in the "cheap" bracket and had not been tested to the highest standards just to get more sales, if it was not up to the job then they may as well have just shot themselves in the foot.

agreed, times change, compertition kicks in etc.

but i have installed a lot of wetrooms and look for this compertition everyday, that aside i use marmox over wedi etc in certain situations becase it does the same job for less cash, but the trays (at this moment) i am not so sure of, due (mainly) to the fact that they are 20mm compaired to 50mm of ALL thier competitors.

but as of yet i have no experience of them.

Marmox trays are sound mate - I've used them on countless jobs with no problems, it's all in the preparation

Is there an update on this one? Last wet room I did was using an Impey + tilesafe membrane = £800 approx. Very expensive for the customer.
I now have a couple of others in the pipeline, and I know the £800 will be a prohibitive factor.
I'm sure if the Marmox ones are fitted correctly...? It's a hell of a lot cheaper if price is a problem.
