A decent radio will last 5+ years. That's roughly £20 per year. What you are suggesting is to spend £60 per year on cheap radios. You're right, a fool and his money are easily parted.
 
I work things out like Bri. I can see the benefit of buying decent every time no matter what it is.

It's false economy to buy cheap tools, especially ones that are used daily. Always save up for the best tools, even if it means waiting a bit longer.

Yes indeed, the main reason I have the Bosch radio is it runs off the batteries of the first cordless drill I bought (and charges them), it also has a 12v outlet which is handy for charging the sat nav and has 2 sockets on the side to act as an extension lead.
 
Yeah to be fair I could see my buying a mediocre trowel to get a decent sound system before buying an awesome trowel and using a shower radio - PMSL. Perhaps not the best method to have but I do appreciate good sounds!
