Trevor Harmer

Hi all. I've now completed a four week course at PTS down in Harlow last week and have set up my own company "Passionate About Tiling" in Chester and I am now doing a lot of marketing to get my first job, introductions to all the usual haunts, plumbers merchants, tile shops web sights etc. I have been tiling for a number of years but never as a professional so I took the course to rate myself and brush up my skills. I have found that my standard of work is very high, I have a strong attention to detail and I am a very clean worker. I am sure I will get plenty of recommendation once I am out there but I suspect you have all been in this situation when just starting out. The point of all this is to ask if there is anyone within a 50 mile radius of Chester that could do with a hand on a project and to help me get started.

Look forward to hearing some feed back or you can email me at [email protected]
PS I will be going on the Basazza course in early September with PTS
Thanks.
Best Regards
Trevor.

Hi Mate, Best of luck in finding someone, in the meantime have you posted your details on sites like findtrustedtradesmen and gumtree etc.

Hi Oli just in the process now also signed up to touchlocal.com very reasonable the local papers are extortionate, day light robbery M8
I need to keep motivated.

You pay £40 per quarter and they send you details of the jobs in your area, you then opt to qoute on them or not, they seem to charge to you again if you qoute or get the job I think there are some people on here who use it and like it, then again there some who wasted money on it for no return.

I try to think about how i find the site in the first place, for example, if you've only discovered it my lots of google searching, would you expect someone searching google for say tiler in (your town) to find that site and then go on to use it.

I've never seen it advertised any where in my part of the country.

Have a look at some other threads on the forums about it here.....

I'd stick to things like find trusted tradesmen, Gumtree and Yell.com. Plus theres no loss in posting your details on free sites, at the end of the day if you here nothing from them its cost nowt but 5 minutes of your time posting them.

Thanks Oli
after reading that site its scared the living daylights out of me and this is going back to march this year I now its not going to be easy so i will keep on pushing and getting my face known
Regards
Trevor.
