I for one would be interested how you do it in frog land .
i used to be recommended as the preferred fixer for Paris ceramics in uk.
this did not incidentally make me an expert on all things French.
My strike rate on leads from them to countries all over the world was at least 90 percent.
but strange as it may be , i only coverted 5 percent when it came to france.it was always the French main contractor that prevented me coming over to do my job. I can only think that they bullied their clients or had an amazing contract in place that prevented their client from choosing any specialist trades.i rather think the foreign client had not understood the small print that would been in foreign language.
that said I spent probably 15 months living and working in France as a grape picker or doughnut seller and I have great affection for france.
where are you living in France .i for one would be very interested how the system works over there..

hello jonnyc:well first of all i live in toulouse at the moment but tend to move every 2 YEARS BACK TO PARIS OR BORDEAUX ;THEIR IS NOT MUCH DIFFERENCE IN TECHNIQUES BETWEEN HERE AND BRITAIN; WE USE MAINLY RUBI CUTTERS HERE .ADDY IS PAREXLANCO A BIG FRENCH MANUFACTURER. DITRA SYSTEM FOR WATERPROOFING AND WEDI BOARD.THE GENERAL STANDARD OF THE TRADESMEN TENDS TO BE UP AND DOWN;IT ALL DEPENDS ON THE INDIVIDUAL .I GUESS. HOWEVER WHEN YOU GO FURTHER SOUTH NEAR TOULOUSE IT IS STANDARD PRACTICE FOR A TILER TO POSE A SAND CEMENT SCREED OF 5 INCHES AND THEN POSE DIRECTLY THE TILES WITH PORTLAND CEMENT; THIS METHOD I FIND TERRIBLE/ ITS LIKE TILING IN THE FIFTIES I SUPPOSE. VERY MESSY NOT MY THING AT ALL .BUT HERE ITS CHEAP TO DO.
AN EXPERIENCED TILER WOULD HAVE NO PROBLEM ACCLIMATISING TO THE SITE HERE.ITS THE LANGUAGE WHICH IS THE PROBLEM.AND ALSO IT COMES AS NO SUPRISE THAT YOU HAD DIFFICULTY IN FINDING WORK HERE THE FRENCH KEEP THE WORK FOR THE FRENCH .
